Tap Class with Toni Noblett
TONI NOBLETT's tap style has been heavily influenced by Barbara Duffy and Brenda Bufalino. She has taught at Broadway Dance Center where she created a video, “Creative Movement for 3 and 4 Year Olds.” She has developed a tap syllabus for primary students emphasizing the importance of musicality and musicianship. Employed full-time as a teaching artist and administrator with Rosie’s Broadway Kids, and part-time as a tap teacher for the American Tap Dance Foundation’s Youth Program, she freelances as a choreographer and teacher, specializing in teaching fellow professionals how to train younger dancers. Recently she served as a Dance Assistant for City Center Encores production of No, No, Nanette. For seventeen summers Toni Noblett served as a teaching artist assistant and eventually lead tap teacher for the National Dance Institute’s Summer Institute. She has been a personal assistant to Jacques d’Amboise in two regional residencies and produced a segment on Jacques’s Appalachian Trail adventure for “CBS Sunday Morning with Bill Geist.”
