Jazz Orchestra with Neal Kirkwood
Participants will study the fundamentals of Jazz under the direction of Neal Kirkwood and give a culminating performance for parents and friends. In their course of study, children will:
- learn tunes by jazz masters like Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker and others;
- learn the basics of improvisation, blues, swing, and playing together as an ensemble;
- learn to express themselves through music!

4:30 - 6:00 PM
Winter Session: January 10 - March 21
Fee: $225 for 9 sessions
Ages: 10 and up

Each student must have their own instrument and at least 1 years experience.

Neal Kirkwood
has been making music with NDI since 1990. He is a composer and pianist, serving as a band leader and arranger for the Neal Kirkwood Octet, the Chromatic Persuaders, and the Discovery Orchestra.
