National Dance Institute in Harlem celebrates 50th anniversary
November 1, 2025
The National Dance Institute, a nonprofit arts education organization in Harlem that brings children together through inclusive dance and music programs is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
The late Jacques d'Amboise, a principal dancer with NYC Ballet, established the NDI on the belief that every child deserves access to dance and a rewarding arts education.
Fifty years later, the institute now reaches over 6,500 children a year in the city.
Jermaine Jones, executive director of National Dance Institute, joined anchor Rocco Vertuccio on "Weekends on 1."
