NDI Method & Our Reach

The NDI Method is our renowned teaching pedagogy created by Jacques d’Amboise and expanded and deepened over the last 50 years. The NDI Method embodies our philosophy of joyful and rigorous learning for every child, teamwork and respect for others, culturally responsive practice, and the power of performance.

Our Reach has expanded across the United States and around the world as a direct result of the NDI Method. We currently have 12 Associates of NDI (ANDIs) and 2 International Partnerships.

Across the United States, NDI has 12 thriving Associates of National Dance Institute (ANDI) programs, serving over 30,000 children annually. Many ANDI organizations were created in collaboration with NDI Founder Jacques d’Amboise and all share NDI’s philosophy and use the NDI Method in their classrooms. NDI strengthens associate organizations by providing a forum for members to share best practices, maintain standards of excellence, and promote the growth of community arts education programs for children. The NDI Collaborative supports the ANDI programs through customized trainings and ongoing mentorship.

International Partnerships

NDI’s International Partnerships are in-depth and ongoing collaborations with dance and arts education organizations around the world to create thriving arts programs based on the NDI Method. NDI leadership provides oversight, ongoing teacher training, and artistic support for all staff, as well as strategies for adapting the NDI Method to the values, traditions, and culture of the host country. More than 8,000 children experience the joy of dance and music annually in NDI’s International Partner programs.
