Jessi Colón (she/her) is a proud alumna of National Dance Institute (NDI), and a former student of Jacques d’Amboise and Ellen Weinstein. Following her time at NDI, Jessi continued to study dance, obtained a BA from SUNY Empire State College, and performed as a dancer and aerialist across four continents with a variety of multidisciplinary artists. She has been on faculty at numerous dance institutions, including Steps on Broadway, Sweet Water Dance & Yoga, and Body & Pole, and from 2016-2019 Jessi facilitated aerialist teacher trainings throughout the United States.

In 2015, Jessi returned to NDI as a Teaching Artist. She now serves as a mentor for new Teaching Artists, Facilitator of the Community Teaching Lab, and Project Manager for the DEIA Movement and Choreography Task Force. Since 2019, Jessi has also been a Teacher Trainer with the NDI Collaborative.

Jessi is equally thrilled when working with children and teachers. When training teachers, she strives to provide both practical and creative tools to support each organization’s unique mission, and each individual’s teaching goals. She is motivated by working at the intersection of artistic integrity and maximum student engagement.
