Jerome Korman

Jerome Korman (he/him) is the Music Director Emeritus and Senior Advisor of National Dance Institute (NDI).  During his tenure as Music Director, Jerome collaborated with Jacques d’Amboise and Ellen Weinstein on hundreds of performances, including NDI’s signature Event of the Year productions, which explored diverse themes ranging from John Lennon to poetry and New Orleans. His work took him to China, Senegal, and Israel, as well as renowned venues such as the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, and the White House.

As Music Director, Jerome oversaw the music component of the In-School Program, directed Celebration Team projects, and provided leadership for the NDI Collaborative for Teaching & Learning, where he trained teaching artists and mentored musicians. In his current role as Senior Advisor, Jerome is utilizing his knowledge and decades of experience to support NDI’s continued growth with an emphasis on running trainings through the NDI Collaborative.   

Beyond his work at NDI, Jerome is a pianist, composer, producer, arranger, and concert promoter. He has served as Music Director for Tony Yazbeck, Jenn Gambatese, and Eleanor Reissa, and composed music for Preeti Vasudevan’s Etudes and the augmented reality app Snowbird. He also composed the theme for The Joe D Show and is a proud member of Paul Shapiro’s Ribs and Brisket Revue. Jerome holds a BA from Columbia College and an MAT from Lehman College. His dedication to music education and performance continues to inspire audiences and students alike.
