2008 Irene Diamond Summer Institute
This summer, 86 children from New York City participated in the Irene Diamond Summer Institute. The children received free training in ballet, jazz, tap and music, and helped develop choreography for NDI’s 2009 Event of the Year which will celebrate the life and music of John Lennon.
The children had the opportunity to meet and work with actor, singer, dancer and director Terrence Mann. Mann conducted a musical theater workshop centered around the John Lennon song, "Imagine," creating an original piece with the children by melding American Sign Language with choreographic movement.
