NDI program grows in Shanghai, China

This January, National Dance Institute continues its partnership with the Shanghai Welfare Children’s Palace, conducting a pilot program to bring NDI’s award-winning teaching methodology to schools in Shanghai and beyond. An NDI delegation of master teaching artists and musicians traveled to Shanghai to conduct a training program for more than 40 Chinese teachers from 8 schools. The team shared best practices with Chinese educators from CWI Children’s Palace while working with 4th and 6th grade classes at Experimental Primary School, and No. 2 High School affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The goal of the international exchange is to create a Chinese model for children’s development through dance, with plans to extend the results of the pilot program to other schools throughout China.
