Carolyn George d’Amboise
1927 - 2009

A long-legged Texas glimmer of sunlight, at Highland Park High she led her basketball team to the State Championships. A leader in the swim team; modern dance and ballet; Summer Stock with the Light Opera; a member of the rifle team. Nothing was going to stop her from coming to Broadway.

She had her dream. Broadway shows Bloomer Girl, Oklahoma, Call Me Madam and Shinbone Alley. And the ballet. A principal with San Francisco Ballet, a soloist with New York City Ballet. Her interests and accomplishments extended: a founding member of National Dance Institute, a world traveler and photographer. She founded her own exercise dance group known to this day as Carrie's Mob. She brought to her husband Jacques four exquisite children, nurtured, polished and launched them. And best of all, and perhaps most difficult, she brought the best out of her husband and made it better.
